Darcy began her insurance career in 1988, spending her early years working for large health plans with a focus in the Employee Benefits industry. Positions in Account Management helped to root and define Darcy’s passion for helping employers and members alike and by 1996, she was responsible for the roll-out of one insurer’s Medicare Advantage product to some of Connecticut’s largest public and private sector employers.

1998 brought many changes to this new Medicare Advantage industry and with huge cost increases and product changes set to hurt her employer group clients, Darcy knew it was time to leave the carrier side so that she could better advise her customers and have the freedom to use her knowledge and expertise to custom-design plans that would specifically address their unique needs. Beacon Retiree Benefits Group was born as a result of this move into the broker & consulting side of the business.

Darcy’s enthusiasm and unique vision has guided the firm to become a leader in the market for employers providing medical and prescription drug benefits to their Medicare-eligible retiree populations. Darcy has helped employers pivot numerous times in order to take financial advantage of Medicare subsidies in the areas of Medicare-medical and prescription drug (Part D) plans and has transitioned employer groups with thousands of members nationwide. Her ability to deliver creative plan designs, proactive thinking and world-class service has set the standard for “Beacon” and has contributed to her team’s 100% employer-client retention since 1999.

While Darcy continues to be responsible for much of the day-to-day operation and direction of Beacon, she relishes her role in educating employers, HR professionals, employees and retirees and spends much of her time conducting Medicare Workshops of all kinds to those audiences.
